Promptathon #1
So it's finally here! The long awaited 25th prompt blow out! XD Well, maybe it's not that amazing, but it's a nice show that I managed to stick with something for so long, though the real accomplishment will come in 75 more prompts/weeks - that will be truly amazing on my behalf. As for the here and now, let's get started with...

FF_Yuri_Drabble's First Ever Promptathon!

So how does it work?

1. You leave a comment to this post, either anonymously or signed in (totally up to you), with a fandom, a pairing, and a prompt (refer to the rules for more info on this). So it should look like this -

FFVIII, Quistis/Fujin, fear

2. Wait for someone to write your request.

3. Write other people's requests while you wait!

It's that easy! Seriously! 0.0
Best part? Everyone's welcome to participate! Whether they're a member or not! :D

Rules -
-This a drabble community, so when you fill out a request, make sure it's with a drabble! Drabbles are less then 500 words as defined by me. Use this very easy to use word counter to help!

-Normally for this comm, I ask that drabbles be of a certain amount of words, either 200, 300, etc, but for this promptathon THAT RULE IS TOTALLY SUSPENDED! I only ask for your drabble to be a minimum of a 100 words (with a maximum of 500 words)! After that, write 101, write 325, write 498 word drabbles! I don't care! Go crazy!

-If a particular prompt really inspires you and you go over the 500 maximum, post it to your own journal (preferably not in a F-locked entry, plz and ty) and leave a link in a reply to the original prompt.

-Let's keep 'I second that prompt!' to one a prompt. x.x Don't make Bat (ie, me) annoyed. Multiple 'I second that!' for a particular prompt will be deleted.

-Prompt as many times as you want! Just try to keep prompting to three times in a row, then go read a magazine, and then feel free to come back and prompt some more. And please do try to write at least drabble for someone else.

-You can leave prompt/requests in any of these styles:

FFVIII, Quistis/Fujin, fear
FFVIII, author's choice, fear
Any, any, fear

-Your prompt can be a lyric, a quote, a word, or even a situation (ie, Celes is learning to cast magic and Terra helps her).

And the most important rule!
-Have fun and pimp this out far and wide! :D

This promptathon will run for two weeks, so October 20th, we'll go back to our regularly scheduled show! Members can still post drabbles in the community that relate to past prompt challenges while this runs (if they want). ^_^

Title: A Start
Fandom: FFVIII
Pairing: Quistis/Fuu
Prompt: Promptathon #1
Rating: G
Words: 240
Spoilers?: none
Author's Note: Lookit! I did over 100 words!! Yay!

The start of their relationship was something akin to watching Seifer and Squall spar - when they played nice. There were the nods, the steps that seemed designed to throw the other off. The close calls and the near misses, each feeling a small desperate frustration from actions that were almost done, actions that should have been done but weren't.

The small comments and they were small; quick and often brutal to the senses, were tossed back and forth, and filled with uncertainty. Miscommunication was always at play, how could it not when one woman answered only with one word? Quistis had never known the other to answer with anything than one word. It held no emotion; just bluntness much like the much used chakram she wielded.

Beneath it all, there was one constant thing: fear. It was laced with determination and stubbornness.

Quistis would never have made the first move and if Fujin had, it didn't seem like an attempt but a blunder. And in the face of conversation, Quistis's words failed her; turned her words into one, becoming much like Fuu or worse; silent, like Squall.

It wasn't until almost a week after the last blunder that the white haired woman crossed paths with the Instructor. She almost let her walk away, but Fujin grabbed her wrist and quickly spun her around.

There was fear in that eye as it darted between Quistis's. "...MOVIE?"

It was a start.

FFX, Lulu/Paine, sharp edges

Re: Oo, oo, got one!
Fandom: FFX
Pairing: Lulu/Paine
Prompt: Sharp Edges
Word count: 500
Rating: PG

Lulu held the blade to Paine's throat, felt the hammer of her pulse through the steel, the beat and the flow and the warmth and the thump. "I can't."
Paine rolled her head back and leaned into the cushion of Lulu's more-than-ample chest. "You can. I need you to do it for me."
She was so close and she was begging. It would be so easy, just a quick slash or two, maybe three if the blade was dull, but she was Lulu and no blade of hers would ever be dull. That simply wasn't how she did things. "No. It's not right."
"Who gives a fuck? Just do it."
"You don't understand. This goes against everything that I've learned since..."
Paine closed her eyes. "I told you to fucking do it. It won't hurt me."
"But it will certainly hurt me."
"Then I'll be sorry for you when you do it. Until that happens, I can't feel bad for you."
The mirror before them laughed when it realized that it was able to reflect such a delicious argument.
"So it doesn't matter to you that I'll be miserable? That I will have to live with this for the rest of my life?"
Paine reached behind her and squeezed Lulu's hand, drawing the blade to her temple even as she tried to comfort the reluctant mage. "No. I want it done and you're the one. You're the only one I trust to do it."
"But..."
The blade quivered, hesitant and scared and so very, very unwilling.
"Do it."
"I can't. I just can't. Once it's done, there's no turning back."
"So? "
"Some things are permanent. Some things can never be undone."
A long held breath was exhaled in a rush and Paine smiled. "Exactly. I can't be like you, holding on to something for so long, just because I'm afraid to change. Now do it."
"Are you sure?"
"Very."
Lulu swallowed once, twice, then pulled the blade, wincing even as the edge sliced through Paine's pulse and power.
Dark hair fell to the floor in dizzy ringlets, all eager to be the first to meet the whiskered kiss of the broom.
"There." Lulu looked at the blades in her hands and thought she might be sick. Paine had such wonderful fairy hair, ebony absinthe that smelled of night and shadow, but now she was shorn to nearly nothing. "It's done."
Paine opened her eyes and looked into that laughing mirror, smiling at what she saw. "Thank you. I couldn't have done it without you."
Lulu threw the scissors on the counter and tucked her hands in her sleeves. "Don't ever ask me to do this again."
Paine laughed and grabbed one of Lulu's braids, jerking the mage down for a rough kiss. Tongue touched tongue, then she pushed her away, grinning at the disgusted expression on Lulu's face. "Why? Just because you like your hair long is no reason for everyone to go around with it to the floor."

Title: "Lunar Cry"
Word Count: 480
Rating: R!
Warning: Nonconsent!
__________

It was time.

(For Edea, Time Compression had already begun.)

Time. Her time.

(Edea sat upon a chair, blind beneath a bird-shell mask, frozen, head thrown back. Gauzy drapery rustled about her, caressing her skin like a silken cocoon. She felt the warm slick alien presence spilling within her, stretching and swelling like a parasitic worm, luxuriating in her hapless body. For torment and pleasure, Ultimecia had thrust Edea's hands between her thighs, stroking her to savage ecstasy.)

Hair streamed back. The mask peeled away, yet the slave was still blind inside skull's prison, seeing only what she chose to let through. White hanging veils of drapery snapped taut around them as Edea stiffened and screamed inside her body's shackles. Ultimecia smiled coolly and arose, gliding through the silken membrane. Her hands caressed her breasts and the sweep of collarbones with tingling satisfaction. A fine young body, this. She might keep it.

(Numb and spent, Edea sensed the girl behind her, held as she was. Another child, and she had no way to protect this sacrificial lamb. She had taken Ultimecia's essence into herself to save the orphanage children, lest any of them become such a vessel. Now the sorceress would eat them all, a devouring Mother.)

Edea lounged on a floating throne, a cruel smile flickering over her lips as puppet dancers whirled and weaved about her feet. The madness was filling the crowd. They roared like beasts, carried away by the pulse of drums. The nightmare had begun. They were living her fevered fantasy.

(Edea's arm lifted with a flourish, shaping a lance of ice that curled around her wrist before flying forward, into Squall's body with a sickening crunch. She could feel the very bones of his shoulder separating, dislocating as he fell back and away. His face was so white. The girl reached for him, powerless.)

That boy. Unbelievably, he had slain her. Now he stood impassively by a broken pillar of stone, watching her last embers fading away. Yet a young woman in a dark sheath was gliding towards her, meekly offering submission, salvation: a willing vessel.

(Edea crumpled under the thudding blast of purple lightning. The power, the pain were unimaginable. Squall-not-Squall leapt forward with a cry, clutching a sword whose strike she knew she must one day feel. But for now, the children were safe. The sorceress poured into her, a blind probing leech latching onto her soul and beginning to give suck.

The sorceress rose with an idle caress of her own skin, gliding through the silken membrane to a waiting throne. Dancers whirled about her feet. Poor Squall fell out and away from her in endless repetition, ice-riven, betrayed by Matron's own hand. The gauzy drapery around her chair snapped taut as she stiffened and screamed inside, a lunar cry to shatter the shackles of time and space.

(It was time. And now all time was hers.)

A/N: Never thought of this pairing before and since it intrigued me, I had to try it! XD
---

In the mind of a person who agrees readily for a Guardian Force to help them, lies many rooms. Of course assuming the person becomes tied to more then one Guardian. It is only in these times that Guardians have the ability to interact with each other, if they choose. Many of the Guardians however, are solitary creatures, accustom to being alone. Some, however are not.

Shiva shifts in her room, her small place in the world, sensing another Guardian. It's energy is familiar, one she's known forever. Siren. Her lips part in remembrance of the other woman's touch. Many millennia they have known each other, but rarely have they had the opportunity to reside in the same human's consciousness. It was a pleasant treat when it happened.

Crossing the boundaries the Guardians set, Shiva dared enter Siren's room. Ice touched water, freezing it as she stepped lightly to the other woman. Siren gazed up at her, a knowing smile on her lips. It was no coincidence they had found each other - Siren had worked hard to be in the right place at the right time. Together, lips pressed and limbs slowly entwining, they can sense the other Guardians - Bahamut, Odin, Alexander - pressed against the windows of Siren's room. They envied the women's love, knowing nothing of love themselves, yet understanding enough to know it was an exhilarating feeling.

Smiling at each other, Siren and Shiva blocked themselves from view with rock and ice. Some things were only meant for lovers eyes.

Meanwhile...
Squall sat up with a bolt in his bed. Rinoa looked up from the desk in the corner of the bedroom, alarmed.

"What's wrong?"

"I have the weirdest feeling that something dirty is going on in my head."

She-Bop!
Fandom: FFVIII
Pairing: Quistis/Fujin
Prompt: Fear
Rating: M
Note: I hope everyone likes Cyndi Lauper

All night.
First, it was the pounding against the walls, then those absolutely unholy screams, then...silence.
Quistis placed her glasses on her perfect nose and reached underneath her bed for her baseball bat.
She wasn't sure what she might discover in the neighboring dorm, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to effectively use her trusted whip in such close quarters.
A too-fucking-close-for-comfort encounter with one of the more obsessed Trepies in her own room had taught her that lesson.
Stealthily slinking down the hall, she came to the door that surely concealed a grisly crime scene. Hand on the knob, she was going to knock first and enter swinging, but a throaty moan sounded from behind the door.
She hesitated.
Was that Fujin? What had happened? Had she been attacked? Would she be stretched out on the bed, bound and tortured by a madman?
Terrified, Quistis kicked down the door and flew to Fujin's bedroom, certain that she would discover her bloody, mangled corpse...
Ummm...

"WHAT?"

"I uh, didn't mean to barge in, but I heard a noise and..."

"LEAVE."

"Umm, yeah I can see that you're..."

"BUSY."

"I think "busy" is the understatement of the century..."

"HYPOCRITE."

"What? I would never do, umm, that to myself."

"LIAR."

"No, really! I have no need to..."

"GLASSES."

"I beg your pardon!"

Fujin rolled off the bed and, ignoring the blush on Quistis' cheeks, pulled the glasses from her face. She grinned, then carefully placed them on her nightstand.

"I need those back. I can't see without them."

"BLIND."

"Well, not blind, but I'm certainly very near-sighted..."

The old cautionary tales of going blind from too much, umm...

"That's just a myth!"

"PATCH."

"I've always had bad vision!"

Fujin raised a single eyebrow.

Quistis tried to ignore that rebellious lock of hair that was clinging just so above Fujin's eyepatch, but coupled with the sheen of sweat on her skin and that very intense gaze, she found that ignoring her was impossible.

"It is just an old wives' tale, isn't it?"

Fujin chuckled and resumed her position on the bed.

"NO."

Quistis swallowed hard.

"So, does this mean that we're going to both go blind?!"

With a very come-hither or else look, Fujin slid over so that Quistis could squeeze in beside her.

"CURE."

"A cure exists? Really?"

"YES."

"Oh that's fantastic! What do I have to dooooo?!?!"

Fujin rolled her eye. Yeesh. And she hadn't even started yet...

"CURE."

Quistis looked at Fujin's more-than-willing face, then looked down to her more-willing-than-that hands, then looked at her...dear sweet lord, her mouth...

"Ooooh! I believe I understand! To balance the karmic energy, one must negate the ocular damage caused by a narcissitic form of expression in which sexual pleasure is obtained by neglecting the needs of a partner in order to..."

Fujin blinked twice.

"WHAT?"

"Oh, never mind. Slide over. I want to perform a little experiment that might benefit us both."

I think it's her tits.

Massive, really, when one considers that they are really nothing more than bags designed to feed infants. No matter how many children are starving in the streets of Midgar, there is no reason for her tits to be so big. It's not as if she can feed them all anyway.

Barrett has walked with a limp since that last chilly rain shower, when the glory of Tifa and her miracle-fiber tee-shirt was on full display. The rain fell down, the nips perked up, and it was curtain call for the male members of our happy little crew.

That cannon on his arm isn't the only thing fully loaded.

It's like he can do a damned thing unless she tells him to. Pathetic, really.

Then there's Vincent, who really should know better after his last stint as a mindless drone, but then again, he seems to have a thing for long hair.

Yeah, it's her hair. Has to be.

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...

Tick, tock, tick, tock...

She couldn't wear it in a simple braid, could she? Oh no!

No, Miss Tifa No-Bra feels the need to wear her hair in that...that loose...that...

God, I want to wrap my fingers in her hair and pull just so I can see if she feels the same thing the rest of us feel when she walks in front of us, all swinging and thick and brushing the backs of her thighs just where...

I swear by all things holy, I think the girl is made of sway.

Why else would she insist on walking at the head of our little pack, just beside Cloud? All hips and ass and that little dip in her flesh where her shorts are almost too tight? It's not as if he's even looked at her since we picked her up at that dive, so she has to know that we're just following behind...panting like little bitches in heat.

Does she not know the power she holds? Thank the Ancients that I can only see her body and not her eyes. I'd be lost forever.

God! I can't take this anymore! If I stay behind her much longer, I'll end up doing whatever she asks, whenever she asks, for the rest of my life!

"Hey guys! Hold up! Wait for me!"

"Umm, hi Aerith...umm, is there something you need?"

"Hey, so when do you think we should stop at an inn? My feet are starting to really hurt and..."

"You know Tifa, that does sound like a good idea. Maybe we should listen to Aerith."

"What? You were just saying that..."

"I know, but she said we should so..."

Take that, bitch.

You're not the only one that knows how to swing a pendulum.

500 words --my first FFXII fic!
Penelo was a nimble-footed sprite who danced on Estersand slickrock, dodged raindrops during Giza's monsoons. Fran was a tree, rooted to earth and sky.

Fran was so patient. For the fiftieth time, Penelo plucked the string. The arrow went fish-tailing into the grass, burying itself yards before the target.

Fran loped out to retrieve the flight, feeling the grass with her toes. Penelo caught her breath as the Viera bent, baring that view that froze the males in the party. She followed meekly. Their hands touched as the arrows clattered into the quiver.

"Almost," Fran said, stroking the back of Penelo's wrist. "Remember, the arrow is winged and waiting. Release, and it will fly."

Penelo's hand was sweaty in the half-glove, but she nodded, drawing the nock to the hollow of her cheek.

"Breathe out," Fran said. "Let the arrow ride your breath."

Penelo exhaled. Her fingers opened. The shaft flew and struck with a thwack.

"Yes," Fran said. "You have it now."

_______

The campfire flickered on the Salikawood’s trunks. A nearby camp of Moogles was jolly with drink and music. Tiny drums pattered, echoing in their hollow tree. Pipes chased each other like manic mice.

Basch kept watch. Balthier too, although his smile strayed now and then to the campfire.

Penelo whirled and leapt to the beat of Vaan’s improvised canteen drum. She was drunk with dancing, a hummingbird circling the stately Viera. "Your sisters,” Penelo said, breathless. “They don’t dance?"

Bemused yet graceful, Fran let the hume girl spin her around. "The green word is stillness, not movement."

"So that's why you ran away!"

“Perhaps.” Fran caught her around the waist, lifting her. The Viera's long limbs glistened in the firelight, and her palms were slick with sweat. Penelo slipped and caught herself on Fran's shoulders as she tumbled down.

For a moment they were facing each other in a loose embrace. Penelo's breath hitched. She was no boy. Why did she feel a thrill to be so close?

Fran stepped away, lifted her arms and began to dance for the sky. Even Basch was hard-pressed not to gape. Penelo forgot to move, mesmerized.

_______

"Did you ever...do Viera make love?" Penelo whispered, embarrassed by the noises coming from Ashe's tent. Balthier again, attending to their princess.

"We visit the Garif," Fran said, "once every five hundred years. But breeding is not love. Among heart-sisters, there is a different song."

Penelo snuggled against her. Phon's nights were cold, yet she was sweating. It was sensible to spoon for warmth, but lately, it had become disconcerting. She tingled wherever velvet-furred curves pressed against her.

“You taught me dancing,” said Fran. “Would you have me show you ours?”

Penelo nodded, tongue-tied.

Starting out slow, the Viera wove a net of silken touches over her flesh until she was quivering, then spun her around, kissing her eyelids, throat, breasts. Lower still, making her arch like a bow.

“Breathe,” Fran said, fingers leaping. “Breathe, and you will fly.”

Penelo danced.
